Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 20, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Chemistry Engine LLC (“Chemistry Engine,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit chemistryengine.app or use any mobile or web application we publish (together, the “Services”).

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

If you email us, create an account, or submit a support request, we receive whatever you choose to send — typically your email address and the contents of your message. We do not require you to create an account to use every application we publish.

Information collected automatically

When you use our applications, we may collect limited technical and usage information, which can include:

  • Device type, operating system version, and device language
  • App version and general configuration settings
  • Anonymous or pseudonymous usage events, such as which screens are opened and which features are used
  • Crash reports and diagnostic logs when an application fails

Where an application stores your progress, preferences, or settings, that data is kept on your device unless the application explicitly offers cloud sync and you turn it on.

Information we do not collect

We do not collect your precise location, your contacts, your photos, your microphone or camera input, or your health data unless an application clearly asks for that specific permission and explains why. We never sell personal information.

2. How we use information

  • To operate, maintain, and improve the Services
  • To diagnose crashes and fix defects
  • To respond to your support requests and correspondence
  • To understand which features are used, in aggregate
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms

3. Payments and purchases

Any purchase made inside our applications is processed by the platform operator — Apple or Google — under their own terms and privacy policies. We never receive or store your full payment card number, bank account details, or billing credentials. We may receive a confirmation that a transaction occurred and a non-identifying transaction reference.

4. Service providers

We rely on a small number of third-party providers to run the Services, which may include application hosting, crash reporting, and privacy-respecting analytics. These providers process information only on our instructions and only to the extent needed to perform their function. Distribution platforms (the Apple App Store and Google Play) independently collect information under their own policies, which we do not control.

5. Children's privacy

Our Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Where an application is rated for a general audience and may appeal to younger users, we design it to avoid collecting personal information altogether. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at hello@chemistryengine.app and we will delete it promptly.

Certain applications we publish are restricted to adults aged 18 or older and are labeled accordingly on their store listings.

6. Data retention

We keep information only as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for. Support correspondence is retained while your issue is open and for a reasonable period afterward. Diagnostic and crash data is retained on a rolling basis and then discarded. Data stored locally on your device is removed when you delete the application.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to request its correction or deletion, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to receive a copy in a portable format.

California residents

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, California residents may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, request deletion or correction, and opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we do not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

Users in the European Economic Area and United Kingdom

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, our legal bases for processing are our legitimate interest in operating and improving the Services, performance of a contract when you use a paid feature, your consent where we ask for it, and compliance with legal obligations. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

To exercise any right, email hello@chemistryengine.app. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the limited amount of information we handle, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International transfers

We operate from the United States, and information we process may be stored or handled there. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for transfers out of your region.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our Services change. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and for material changes we will provide a more prominent notice in the affected application.
